A daunting task, had I of been in charge... BUT I WASN'T. John has completely overhauled the tent trailer from propane to electric.... yeah. We still have a hiccup with the overhead lighting but all will be redeemed when we purchase a proper voltage light. It was very impressive to be able to vacuum out the trailer without having to drag an extension cord into the trailer for cleanup. Not only will there be no lamps to knock over, we shall have overhead lighting when we are through with it.
I know it's a far cry from roughing it as we've done in the past, but the time had come to needing replacement equipment. The tent (at last we used it) leaked, and needed to be replaced. Funny, we paid as much (many year ago) on that tent as we have recently spent on purchasing the tent trailer.
In addition to the hydro, John managed to install an extra storage cubby under the stove for small toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, etc while prepping a fantastic dinner in the slow cooker for which we hadn't tried before. Pizza Fondue.... mmmm it was delicious and to boot we've enough leftovers that I think we're going to have the remains tomorrow evening served over pasta noodles.
The kids had hoped to sleep in the trailer last night, and even so much as put all their stuff in there prior. Unfortunately, the temperature dropped considerable and we nixed the idea. Perhaps if ever the evenings warm up, they will be able to camp out prior to us taking it down following repair. Good news is, despite needing canvas repair it doesn't leak... phew. We had thought for sure it would. We aren't taking any chances though and have all the materials necessary to patch over the areas I'd stitched up previously.
I even have the "UGLY" fabric we'd purchased to make curtains for the trailer... seeing as only one panel remained when we purchased it. The "UGLY" fabric ought to compliment the 80's decor and cushions of the trailer, beautifully. I'll take pictures as I proceed with the sewing and canvas patching.
If anyone is interested, I will post the recipe tomorrow. Have a great night.
